Our History
Having spent 15 years as a trained Land Rover mechanic and reaching Senior Master Technician status, Archie Buchannan is well known within the motor industry. In 2020 business owner Jason Horne approached Archie for his expertise regarding a Discovery 2 G4 that he had recently purchased. Jason was frustrated at main dealer prices and dissatisfied with the levels of customer service he had experienced.
Together Archie and Jason rebuilt the Discovery and during that time a plan was formed to launch AJLR, an independent garage specialising in Land Rover and Range Rover servicing and repairs. Their vision was to provide main dealer standards without main dealer prices. By 14th April 2020 the business was launched and began operating out of new premises near Alton in Hampshire.
Independent garages grow through word of mouth which can only be built on customer satisfaction – Archie and Jason set out to offer high levels of customer service backed by experience built up over years of specialist industry training. Free to make their own decisions about how to operate, AJLR have built a reputation for excellence and value. Archie and his team of technicians provide the same level of workmanship as you would expect at a dealership, but as an independent garage with a lower overhead structure, are able to offer more competitive pricing.
